Mayflower United Methodist Church
Mayflower United Methodist Church has announced their plans for Holy Week Services.
We will actually begin early by announcing the United Methodist Women’s Spring Bazaar on Saturday, April 12 at 7 a.m. We will be having the traditional home-made fried pies cooked in peanut oil and a wonderful quilt that was donated by Cheryl Brannon. The quilt can be viewed at H & B Hardware in Mayflower until the day before. All proceeds go to help fund local mission projects.
The services include Palm Sunday Celebration and immediately after the service, our monthly potluck lunch. We also plan a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m., which will be a Tennebrae service. Easter Sunday we will have a “Sunrise Service” at 7 a.m. on our side lawn, with a breakfast at 8 followed by a community wide egg hunt at 9 and then concluding with our traditional service at 10 a.m. The church is located at Miller and Grove streets in Mayflower. For more information, please call the Rev. Rick Wilkins at 501-442-5045.
We also would like to report that our Youth Director, Lindsey Annable, and four young ladies recently returned from Veritas in Russellville recharged and refreshed with the spirit and roaring to go out to show God’s Love to the world! Lindsey is leading the Youth in a study of the book of Proverbs on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. at the church. All youth are welcome.
Brad Frakes has announced a Bible Study for men from the book “Hard Passages in the Bible.” It will be held at the church on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Each study will stand independently, so do not be concerned if you need to miss some. The studies begin this week, on April 2, at 6:30 p.m. Brad says, “Come on, check it out!”
For more information, feel free to call Brad at 501-269-1815 or the pastor, Rev. Wilkins at 501-442-5045.
