Police Beat 3/20/14: DVD burgling, thievery at the walking trail and some of the worst timing

Among reports recently released by the Conway Police Department: 

• Residential burglary at 600 block of First Street.

A resident reported that at some point before noon on Wednesday a burglar got into her home by breaking a small window on a door and stole about $40, eight DVDs and a debit card. 

• Motor vehicle theft at 1700 block of Old Military Road:

A resident reported that at some point between Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday morning a thief or thieves stole a 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 450 ATV that was strapped in on a trailer. Whoever took it cut the straps instead of undoing them.

 • Vehicle break-in at 275 Salem Road (Tucker Creek walking/bike trailhead).

A resident left their car unlocked while they were on the trail and a thief got into it. A tan purse with the word “London” printed all over it in orange, a Betsy Johnson wallet (black with a floral pattern), an iPad II in a purple case, a debit card and a some money were stolen.

• Misdemeanor warrant arrest at 1200 block of Winfield Street.

An officer noticed that a passing car didn’t have the little light that illuminates the license plate shining and expired tags and pulled it over. During the stop the officer discovered that the driver and CPD warrants, and the passenger apparently went into labor. The driver was taken to jail; the passenger was taken by ambulance to Conway Regional.
