Hitchhiking at 160 block of Lower Ridge Road.

A man was arrested an an active warrant and cited for hitchhiking and public intoxication when police observed him walking southbound in the road near East German Lane and Lower Ridge Road.

According to a Conway Police Department incident report, the subject extended his arm and had his thumb up in the air as an officer approached him in a patrol unit.

The subject told the officer he left the VFW on foot because his girlfriend left him behind at the business.

The subject said he was trying to get a ride home to Main Street in Vilonia.

The officer noted the subject began arguing when he told the subject he couldn't walk that far in his current state.

The subject had an active warrant with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, and he was taken into custody.

The officer wrote the subject eventually became "belligerent" and had to be placed in a restraint chair at the jail.
