Conway man arrested for impersonating officer

Dunaway

Stephen Allen Dunaway, 37, of Conway, was arrested for impersonating an officer after an 18-year-old woman reported he threatened her for sex.

According to a Conway Police Department incident report, the alleged victim told police she was approached by Dunaway, and he told her he is an undercover drug task force police officer with Heber Springs Police Department.

The woman said Dunaway told her if she did not have sex with him, he would "bring down the wrath of God on her," and that he would "plant drugs in her trailer and she would go to prison."

Police made contact with Dunaway and searched his residence, according to the report, and found a police badge hidden in the open section of the underpinning of Dunaway's trailer.

Also found inside Dunaway's residence was a small plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine, the report states.

Dunaway was jailed for impersonating a police officer and burglary. The report states he was not charged with possession, but warrants may be sought at a later date.
