When is this weather going to get better? This cabin fever seems to be contagious, is it supposed to make you “cranky”?
Winter came in too early this past fall, and now I wonder, is spring going to be late?
I’m ready for a break, it needs to get warmer for Easter. I love spring — beautiful flowers — green grass, beautiful trees, colored eggs for the little children to hunt and best of all, we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Our good friend, Bro. Odis Lyons Jr. visited Ray recently. He lives in an apartment in Greenbrier now. He is a special person.
Weldon and Reva Stevenson of Flippin, Ark., (born and raised here in Holland) will be celebrating 70 years of marriage Feb. 19. They were married Feb. 19, 1944, at the United Methodist Church in Norman, Okla., by the Rev. McFarland, the pastor of the church, performed the ceremony. Weldon’s buddy and wife were their attendants. Weldon was in the Naval Air Technical Training Center. They are parents of three children, all married, son, Mike, and daughters, Kathy and Becky (now deceased). Reva is 89 years young and Weldon is 90 years young. Congratulations to them.
Sunny Sue Earnhart was in Conway Regional Medical Center most of the week before last, now dismissed last Sunday. Her sister, Marian McGinty, always stays with her. They are glad to be home.
We had a great time of food, fellowship and joy last Sunday afternoon at our church, Oakland Methodist, giving a pink and blue shower for our own Hud and Elexis Rannenberg. They are expecting their first child (a little girl) in early March. We enjoyed a good crowd and many, useful, beautiful gifts were opened. Hud is the grandson of the late Lumas and Aileen Shaw. All residents of Holland. Hostesses for the shower were Jan Smith, Mitzi Moore of Little Rock, and Sherry Sellers, Amy McKissack of Conway.
I pray all of you readers stay safe and warm during our cold weather. Pray for our sick in this country of ours. God walks with us through all our trials.

Keep Bessie’s friend Bonnie in your prayers, Shonna Montgomery, the shut-ins, Betty Griffith, Wilma Stevenson, Sandy Dowdy, as we go to the wound doctor for her leg and go to the vein clinic too. Got to get this girl well so she can have that pacemaker and we can go swimming this summer. Andie Dowdy has recently been in the hospital, wishing her a speedy recovery too. Seems like everyone around has had that crud just hope me and mom don’t get it.
If you have news, please send it firstname.lastname@example.org or instant message me on Facebook or call me at 679-3299 or call my mom’s number. Can’t put news in there if I don’t have it.
Sympathy to the Wendell Kennedy family, and the Glen Hall family, as they passed away recently.
Have a great weekend and please don’t drink and drive. Be safe out there.
