Toad Suck Daze received six awards Friday at the close of the annual Arkansas Festivals and Events Association convention, said Mary Margaret Satterfield, festival director.

The Faulkner County Festival, which begins May 2 this year, received ALFiE awards in the gold, silver and bronze levels among peer state festivals.

Toad Suck Daze received the gold level ALFiE for best souvenir, the festival’s take-home cup.

A gold level award was also given for the newspaper tabloid produced by the Log Cabin Democrat, the Toad Tab.

Silver in three categories was awarded for best event website, best social media campaign and best event photo.

The festival’s commemorative poster won bronze, said Satterfield.

Satterfield said the Arkansas Festivals and Events Association convention is a time for festival organizers to work together and learn new ways to grow and improve festivals.

Issues covered included social media and emergency preparedness, she said.

Toad Suck Daze is an event of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.
