The Fifth Annual Art, Pray, Love fundraiser for St. Peter’s Guatemala mission is Saturday from 6:30-9 p.m. in the Parish Hall and Morgan House at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Tickets are $25 per person or $45 per couple. Tickets will be sold at the door or can be purchased at St. Peter’s office during normal business hours.
Nearly 20 Central Arkansas artists will display paintings and sculpture with proceeds benefitting the Guatemala mission.
One such artists is Katie Wilson, an art teacher from Academics Plus charter school in Maumelle. Art, Pray, Love will be Wilson’s first time showing art, said La Tresha Woodruff, public information officer for the Conway Police Department, who will be going on the mission trip for the first time this spring.
Woodruff has Wilson’s depiction of Toad Suck Daze hanging in her nephew’s room.
“When they were looking for more artists I knew I had to get [Wilson] involved,” Woodruff said.
Musical entertainment will be provided by harpist Pat Qualls, dulcimer duo Steve and Rachel Lance and the string quartet from Conway High School. Marvin Williams will also be singing gospel.
Gift cards, jewelry and merchandise from local merchants has been donated for a silent auction. Many of the artists also donated a painting for the auction.
“I encourage people to come and enjoy not only the entertainment, art and silent auction, but know they will be donating money to a very worthy cause,” Woodruff said.
