Burn Ban ordered Monday; grassfires burn 200 acres over weekend

A burn ban is in effect as of 3:20 Monday afternoon.

County Judge Allen Dodson said he ordered the burn ban because of low-humidity, seasonally dry vegetation and periodic high winds.

Over the weekend when more than a dozen grassfires burned 200 acres, and at one point on Saturday volunteer and professional firemen in the county were dealing with four grassfires at once.
