Tomorrow, Jan. 12, the Faulkner County Singing Club will meet at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier. Singing will start at 1:30 p.m. and continue for approximately 1 1/2 hours. The public is always invited; so, make a note and join this group in singing from both old and new convention-type songbooks.
The Club meets each second Sunday from September through May, and it has done this for many decades. Its longevity derives, at least partially, from the churches represented and the dedication of the participants.
The week end after Christmas, we were fortunate enough to camp at Maumelle Park in Little Rock with the Todd Cardin family, the Jimmy Bauder family, and the Michael Cardin family. This camping trip was unlike most of our camping trips in that we went out to eat every evening and spent a great amount of time shopping. We are not a group to really “rough it” while camping, but this trip was extra special. We sure had a good time! A special thanks goes out to Joshua Bauder for setting up an outdoor movie screen for us to enjoy down by the river and to Kellie Cardin for building campfires with lots of special love.
There are a lot of germs hanging around right now. Doyle Jolly has been in the hospital with pneumonia and could use some extra prayers to help him recover. Darrel Freeman and Andrea Hall are also suffering from pneumonia. Jay and Stephanie Strain, Carrie Spear, and Frances Hall have had some pretty serious sinus issues, also.
Stephanie Strain was given a baby shower in honor of baby Jasper last Sunday and we had a good turn- out despite the weather. She received lots of diapers and wipes, clothes, and other baby goodies. I can’t wait to hold that sweet baby boy.

Oh, this miserable weather! Come on Summer! I have said it before and I will repeat, I am not a winter person As long as Bill keeps the wood burning stove going, I am OK. Just don’t want to venture out the doors. I suppose we can count our blessings though, as those north of Arkansas have really had it bad.

Ed Hammontree is doing well following surgery on Dec. 27.
I am still doing good following my recent surgery. Still on restricted activity for at least a couple of more weeks. I am getting to be a pro at restricted activity, sitting in my lounge chair and playing with my Microsoft Surface Tablet the kids gave me for Christmas.
