The former site of Superior Chevrolet at 915 E. Oak St. is under contract with an unknown developer.
T.J. Lefler, partner with Sage Partners Real Estate Solutions, represents the family who owns the property.
“The Katherine S. Dean Trust has the property under contract with a developer,” he confirmed Monday.
Two surveyors were at the former Superior Chevrolet site surveying property lines, fences, sewers and drainage systems during the wind chill advisory Monday.
Brandon French, crew chief, and Travis Hankins, survey technician, with Central Arkansas Professional Surveying said they were assessing the property for a potential Cheddar’s Casual Cafe.
Lefler said the developer isn’t ready to make himself known and Lefler doesn’t know what he has planned for the property, but with 7.44 acres, there’s enough room for more than a Cheddar’s.
Wes Craiglow, deputy director of development for the City of Conway, said according to site plans submitted to the planning department, the developer plans to replace the old Superior Chevrolet dealership with an 8,000 sq. ft. restaurant space anchored by two other retail/commercial structures.
The unknown developer is meeting with the City for the first time this morning in a Neighborhood Meeting required prior to any PUD rezoning in the downstairs conference room in City Hall at 10:30. The meeting is open to the public.
