Warming Center to open Sunday evening

The McGee Center on College Avenue will be open as a warming center from 6 p.m. on Sunday until Tuesday or as needed.

All are welcome and there will be cots to sleep on, but no one will be allowed in after 11 p.m. unless a police officer or firefighter brings them and no meals will be served. 

Forecasts call for both mist and snow and bitter cold on Sunday, with a low of 9 on Sunday night, and it’s saying negative 7 on Sunday night when you account for wind chill. On Monday the high temperature is supposed to be 18. By the end of next week the highs should be back in the 40s.
