Conway Ortho Urgent Care Clinic becomes alternative option to emergency room

Posted: January 2, 2014 - 1:08pm

Physicians and staff of Conway Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Clinic will soon offer an acute injury alternative to area residents. From children to those with more experience under their belt, if one has an orthopaedic injury of any kind, he can stop by the Conway Orthopaedic offices located at 550 Club Lane in Conway and have the injury assessed and treated. The clinic will open on Monday, Jan. 6 and will be open from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

No appointment is necessary, trained orthopaedic staff will perform the evaluations and patients will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

If an injury is assumed, the patient may undergo basic diagnostic imaging such as an X-ray to further diagnose his condition. Once the diagnosis is made, the patient may be scheduled for additional diagnostic testing, therapy or referred to another specialty physician. Student-athletes and children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Patients should also bring their insurance documentation.

The most common venue when sustaining an injury such as tweaking a knee is through a hospital emergency room. With average wait times of up to three to four hours for the emergency room, the Conway Ortho Urgent Care Clinic will be a time saving choice for the residents of Central Arkansas.

Conway Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Clinic provides comprehensive orthopaedic medicine services year round. The physicians serve as team orthopaedic surgeons to UCA, Hendrix College, Central Baptist College and numerous area high schools.
