Shot hits home near school

Posted: January 1, 2014 - 8:44pm

The Conway Police Department is investigating gunfire near the Marguerite Vann Elementary School that struck a nearby home. No one was hurt.

According to a CPD incident report, a resident near the school reported hearing what sounded like five gunshots at around 7:20 Monday evening. One bullet apparently hit this resident’s home, breaking a glass door and denting the solid door behind it. Officers found what is described in the report as “a small bullet from a firearm” amid the broken glass.

The school has video cameras that may have captured any vehicles driving in the area at the time the shots were reported.
