Two Harding University students from Conway recently studied abroad as part of their coursework.
Ethan Lafferty of Conway recently returned from a three-month semester studying at Harding University in Greece.
As part of the HUG curriculum, Lafferty spent the semester immersed in Greek culture. Students had the opportunity to experience a Mediterranean cruise and visit historical sites in the Peloponnese, Northern Greece, Turkey and Israel. The group lived in Porto Rafti, Attica, cultivating new relationships with fellow students.
Audrey McBay of Conway recently returned from a three-month semester studying at Harding University in Florence, Italy.
As part of the HUF curriculum, McBay, spent the fall 2013 semester immersed in Italian culture. Students had the opportunity to visit locations such as Pisa, Rome, Pompeii, Sicily, Siena and other historically significant areas. The group lived together in a 16th-century villa much like a typical Italian family.
Students in the programs had a full course load available to them taught by visiting Harding professors. The professors also traveled with the students. The classes encouraged exploration and interaction among the people of the countries students were visiting.
