The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has been working hard to open as many lanes as possible. Still, travelers will likely face work zones and possible delays due to increased traffic volume.

Due to road repair work, motorists traveling on U.S. Highway 67 will have to take a detour through White County this week, according to officials with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.

The Construction will require two closures of the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 67 between mile marker 51 and mile marker 55 in White County.

The work is being performed in a construction zone where traffic is down to one lane in both directions. The closures will be Thursday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Northbound traffic will be diverted off U.S. Highway 67 at Exit 51 Judsonia and onto State Highway 157, then to State Highway 367 through Bald Knob and will return to U.S. Highway 67 at Exit 55 Bald Knob/Batesville.

AHTD officials said motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. Traffic news is updated on Twitter @AHTD.
