CBC welcomes four new trustees

The Baptist Missionary Association of Arkansas, in their November 2013 annual meeting, elected four new members to serve five year terms on Central Baptist College’s Board of Trustees beginning in 2014. Those elected were Sam Hodges of Springhill, La.; Zane Clark of Mabelvale, Ark; Shawn Johnston of Greenbrier; and Darren Hill of Greenbrier.

Zane Clark has served as pastor of Village Creek Baptist Church in Mabelvale for over 23 years. Clark is a CBC graduate from the class of 1968. He is also a 1970 graduate of UCA, where he received his BSE degree, and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where he received his MSE degree in 1977. He is a current member of the BMAA DiscipleGuide board where he has served as trustee since 2009. Clark and his wife Donna have 3 children and 8 grandchildren, and are active members of Village Creek Baptist Church in Mabelvale.

Shawn Johnston is a Vice President and Lending Officer for First Security Bank in Greenbrier. Her daughter, Jayla, was a CBC student in the class of 2006. Shawn attended the University of Central Arkansas. She has been a member of the Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce since 2000 and also served as treasurer from 2004-10. She and her husband Craig have 2 children and 4 grandchildren, and are active members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier.

Darren Hill is a thirteen-year employee and Estimator/Project Manager at Lock-Wood Electric in Conway. Hill is a CBC alumnus from the class of 1998 and received his BBA degree from UCA. Hill’s dad, Roy Hill, is a CBC alumnus from the class of 1970 and BMA pastor. Hill’s wife, Jennifer “Adams” Hill, is also a CBC alumnus from the class of 2000. He, his wife and two children are active members of Springhill Baptist Church in Greenbrier.

Sam Hodges is the retired co-owner with his wife Cathy of Sam’s Menswear in Springhill, La. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Louisiana Tech University in 1975. He previously served on the CBC Board of Trustees from 2008-12. He has also served as president of the Springhill North Webster Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Cathy, have one grown daughter and are active members of the First Baptist Church in Springhill, La., where Hodges is a deacon, serves as treasurer and is a member of the Finance Committee.
