Charles Hank Hawkins, of Greenbrier, was arrested last week on suspicion of inappropriate contact with children, authorities said.
Hawkins was the assistant fire chief at Cato Volunteer Fire Department in Faulkner County until his resignation Dec. 12, according to Chief Charles Salts, the day after his arrest.
Formal charges are pending, but Hawkins, 45, 10 Becky Lane, is being held without bond, said Chief Deputy Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office.
Booking information with Hawkins' arrest includes charges of rape of a person under the age of 14.
According to a Faulkner County Sheriff's Office incident report, the parents of a minor known to Hawkins told police their child complained of pain after being in Hawkins' presence.
The parents provided police with other possible evidence that their child had been a victim of one or more inappropriate sexual encounters, according to the report.
Two other minor victims are also included in the report, as other parties came forward to police to report their children may have also been victims.
Victim ages are from 4 to 6 years old.
An online resume with Hawkins' information says he is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician instructor.
