Xaviar Clay was found not guilty of rape on Wednesday after a two-day trial. Clay, a college student in Conway, had been charged of raping a fellow student.
“The prosecution did a good job, however at the end of the day the jury assessed the testimony and the evidence and acquitted him, and in this case that is the right thing because he told the truth and the jury was right,” Clay’s defense attorney, Angela Byrd, said.
Deputy Prosecutor Troy Braswell represented the state in the case.
