Fox's Den: 'Old Ways' a success

Step into my den, pull up a comfy chair and a cup of tea and let’s chat.

Don’t forget there are three local places where kiddies (and adults) can go to have fun this Halloween. Let’s hope there is no rain to dampen any howling.

“Old Ways from Old Days” out on Highway 225 East was a huge success with a steady stream of visitors. I tasted my first sourghum and what a surprise! That is so sweet it makes your mouth pucker! Gail and Randy West are quite the hosts with a nice little store open six days a week. They sell eggs, beef and raw milk raised on their own small farm. It’s worth the nine-mile drive out there.

The Greenbrier Lions have set a date for the Greenbrier Christmas parade. It will be an evening event again this year with all the lights on floats and marching band. Watch for their entry form to appear soon.

If you know of any person who was enlisted in the armed forces whom you would like to honor, call the Greenbrier High School to make a reservation, 679-4236. The East students are hosting their annual Veterans Day Ceremony Monday, Nov. 11. Lunch is served after the rally to all veterans and their family and friends who attend with them.

Trinity Faith Tabernacle Church is hosting a Homecoming to honor their former Pastors Nov. 2 and 3. The Sherman Mountain Boys, four teens from Jasper, are a well-known southern gospel, blue-grass group who will entertain Saturday night.  Sunday at 10 a.m. they will honor special guest Pastor John McEwen, along with other Pastors who are returning. The church is at 56 N Broadview with Pastor Wayne McGuire leading.

‘Til next time, give me a call or drop me a line if you would like to chat……

Please send Greenbrier news, questions, comments, or suggestions to BJ Fox in The Fox’s Den at or or call 501-679-3690.
