The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office will unveil a memorial stone, in honor of Hans Fifer, at 5 p.m. Monday on the Faulkner County Courthouse lawn.
Fifer, a Faulkner County Sheriff’s deputy, died April 8 while participating in SWAT team tryouts in North Little Rock.
The sheriff’s office said Fifer complained of chest pains, and collapsed. Fifer was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
“Hans was a perfect example of what a policeman should be,” Sheriff Andy Shock said after Fifer’s death. “He was very kind-hearted, and had a servant’s heart.”
