The Hendrix College Chamber Orchestra conducted by Dr. Karen Griebling, and Hendrix College Chaplain Rev. Wayne Clark present an evensong observance for All Souls Day on Monday, Nov. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Greene Chapel.
Joining the orchestra as guest artists are the Chancel Choir from First United Methodist Church, the Rockefeller String Quartet of the Arkansas Symphony, and adjunct music instructors Katherine Reynolds (viola), Barron Weir (double bass), and Kara Claybrook (soprano).
The program opens with Richard Strauss’s Allerseelen (All Souls’ Day) and features How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place by Johannes Brahms, Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, A Long Road Travelled by Nancy Van de Vate, Meditation from Thaiis by Jules Massenet, and Masonic Funeral Music by Mozart.
