Volunteers from St. Joseph School’s National Honor Society and Family Career Community Leaders of America assisted with a “Kids Night Out” at the St. Joseph After School Program building. Events like this are scheduled each month from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. so parents can drop-off their children and have some time to themselves.
The student volunteers oversaw the activities offered to the children throughout the evening. These included decorating caramel apples, playing basketball and learning a “Monster Mash” dance routine. The kids also painted chalkboard pumpkins and watched “Charlie Brown: The Great Pumpkin” on a projection screen TV provided by the St. Joseph School Endowment’s Janet and Phillip Hiegel After School Program Fund. Dinner for the kids was provided by Domino’s Pizza of Conway.
