New Beginning Church
As long as we know the Lord, there is going to be battles. Satan is fighting against good all the time. The title of Pastor Bob’s message this past Sunday was “The war that we are facing.”
Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I can think of several things that we are fighting against and one of them is our government for wanting to take the Lord out of so much that our country was found upon. And then there are people who want to go against the Bible and change it because it doesn’t fit their life style. Revelation 18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book (Bible), if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book.
We are praying for Patsy Majors who lost her home in a fire, and for Mike Clark who needs a touch, for Techler Clark who’s heart is being monitored, Royce and Edith Johnson and for Charlene Patrick’s nephew who had a stent put in. Many others who need a touch from the Lord.
“Judge each day, not by the harvest, but by the seeds you plant.”
Bethlehem Baptist Church
Members and friends of Bethlehem have been very busy lately and will continue to be for the next couple of months. Seems like most activities start in the fall and then there is one after the other.
The past two Sundays we have been blessed with several new members. We welcome Sheila, Justin, and Jade Woodrome by letter transfer; David and Emily McCuen by letter trasfer; Marcus and Christina Whitley, Marcus by letter transfer and Christina for baptism. Marcus and Christina have two children Cade and Anna.
You may notice the landscaping change going on around the buildings and parking lots. A big thank you goes to Breton and Marie Imhauser for seeing the need and taking on this much needed project. Volunteers are welcome, see one of them to find out when they are working.
This past Sunday evening Bethlehem participated in the Annual Lifeword Walk for the World. Following the walk we met in the FlC for a finger food pot-luck. Bro. Wade and Joanna Allen, Missionaries to the Philippines, were our special guests for the evening. They shared with us their work there.
Members, if you have not secured your date for pictures for the new church directory you need to do so. Dates are Oct. 24-26. You may sign up in the church foyer or go online to www.bethlehembaptistchurch.info.
No Other Name, a trio from Nashville, will be our concert guests Sunday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. at Central Baptist College. Also participating will be Legacy of Praise (trio which includes Bro. Danny). The concert is free admission but a love offering will be received.
Bethlehem Family and community friends, you are invited to the BBC Fall Fest, Sunday, Oct. 27, from 6-8 p.m. No scary costumes please! This event is always a great outreach to our community and a fun time for kids and adults with games, Bible story, and food. Come on out and have a great evening at Bethlehem.
