Back by popular demand, Straight No Chaser is returning to another sold-out crowd at the University of Central Arkansas’s Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall.
The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Although the show is sold out, any turn-back tickets would be made available one hour prior to the show.
The group had been highly requested by the public for a couple of years before they were brought to Reynolds last year on a Sunday afternoon.
Straight No Chaser sold out faster last year than any performance had to that point at Reynolds. This year proved to be no different as the show sold out as quickly as tickets were made available.
“The next day after Straight No Chaser came last year, people were demanding we bring them back,” said Ashley Love, director of finance and marketing for UCA Public Appearances. “We normally don’t bring people back, but that Monday afternoon we had people leaving us voicemails and messages asking us to bring them back.”
Straight No Chaser is a male a cappella group formed in 1998 at Indiana University. According to www.sncmusic.com, the group has gained a big following ever since that day, with their videos earning more than 20 million views on YouTube. The group has made numerous national television appearances and has had two very successful Christmas albums.
The group is known for the perfect harmony along with their dance moves and humorous moments throughout the show.
“They are very talented and really funny,” Love said. “They interact with the crowd and sing songs from the ‘50s on up, which attracts pretty much every generation.
“I would definitely say that Straight No Chaser is the most successful a cappella group that we have ever had at Reynolds.”
Straight No Chaser will sing songs from the group’s new album, “Under the Influence”, along with some holiday songs from the newly announced Holiday EP.
Any turnback tickets would be available at the UCA Ticket Central Box Office for $30-$40 for adults, $27-$37 for senior citizens, $25-$35 for UCA alumni, $23-$33 for UCA faculty and staff, $10 for UCA students with a current student ID and children.
