Penny McClung officially announced her candidacy for Faulkner County Treasurer Thursday.
“I’m excited about this campaign, and I look forward to reaching out, visiting and asking for the support of the citizens of Faulkner County,” she said.
McClung has worked for Faulkner County more than 27 years with 11 of those coming in the treasurer’s office. She currently holds the position of Chief Deputy Treasurer.
McClung is a lifelong resident of Faulkner County, and she lives in the Barney Community with her husband of 20 years, Kim McClung. She is a graduate of Enola High School and Pulaski Technical College, from which she received honors. She is a member of the Arkansas County Treasurers’ Association and Treasurer of the Nursing Home Gift Fund of Faulkner County, Inc.
“If elected, I will continue to work with the Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit, upgrade accounting procedures required by statute and carry on the treasurer’s office in a courteous, efficient and professional manner,” McClung said.
