Two female subjects are wanted for theft of property and unauthorized use of a credit card after the pair allegedly worked together to distract and then steal from an employee of a downtown business.
According to a Conway Police Department incident report, two female subjects were in Grand on Oak, 1101 Oak Street, when one of the females walked behind a jewelry counter to take attention away from the female who was with her in the store.
The report states that while store employees were engaged in conversation with the subject who walked behind the jewelry counter, the other subject went through an employee’s purse and took several credit cards.
Shortly after the subject left the business, the employee’s credit card was used at Walmart to make an unauthorized charge of about $2,400.
Officers gave Walmart a suspect description, located the register the card was used at, and pulled security footage.
According to the report, one of the females bought two gift cards for $1,200, and when she attempted to buy a third gift card for $2,400, the register required a signature comparison and photograph ID to complete the transaction.
When the cashier asked the female for her ID, she ran from the store, the report states.
Officers were provided photos and video of the two subjects.
