Inuvo, Inc., an Internet marketing and technology company that delivers targeted advertisements into websites and applications, recently released ALOT Health, a new company-owned website designed to engage consumers.
The site is mobile and desktop ready with searchable content related to ailments, fitness, dieting and pregnancy. It also serves as an online searchable directory of local physicians.
This is Inuvo’s first mobile-optimized launch. The site can adjust to several different sizes including multiple smart phones, tablets and desktops.
“It was really important for us to have a more mobile presence that’s easily accessible and gives you what you need,” said Dana Robbins, vice president of product management for Inuvo, Inc.
ALOT Health is the first of several category-based, content strategy websites that will be introduced under the ALOT brand.
“The concept around it is, there’s a lot to know and we can help,” Robbins said.
Today the site provides quick, highlights of information, but as the ALOT brand grows, she said, the site will become a more in-depth resource.
Content is based on consumers’ interests derived from popular web searches. Inuvo then works with content generating companies to produce articles specifically written for their audience.
As the brand grows, there will be more opportunities to generate other kinds of content such as blog entries from health professionals, Robbins said.
From the business side, Robbins said, the site will allow Inuvo to engage with consumers, and consumers will begin to see the company as an information source.
The site will also serve as a platform for health-related advertisements. Robbins said health can be a sensitive topic, and advertisers feel more comfortable advertising sensitive products on a platform where they know the user is interested in the topic.
The site also offers consumer friendly components that allow users to share content over social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. Google renewed its advertising contract with Inuvo’s subsidiary Vertro, Inc. in February.
“In the end it’s about consumers telling us and other consumers what’s interesting, and what they found useful,” Robbins said.
Results for the physician directory vary based on what you type in, Robbins said, for the most general results users should search by type.
“We want the listing to be broad, and we want you to find what you need to find in your local area,” she said.
Physicians are added to the site through local directory lists, and new businesses and can email or call Inuvo to be added to the local directory.
ALOT Finance will be Inuvo’s next content strategy site, Robbins said, and is expected to launch in early October.
