Among reports recently released by the Conway Police Department:
• Theft of property, Irby Drive.
A Conway woman says she was recently a victim of a scam.
The 19-year-old victim told police she applied for a loan on an online site, but could not remember the exact address. However, the woman said the name of the company was Umar.
The victim said she was told by the company that her credit was bad, and in order to receive the $2,500 loan, she would need to pay a processing fee of $147.
The victim sent the money, but has not been able to contact a company representative since.
• Shoplifting, 3900 Dave Ward Drive.
A Morrilton man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for public intoxication and shoplifting after Walmart employees alerted police of a white male who had stolen items and ran from the store.
Officers observed the male, 34, standing in the parking lot by TCBY, before crossing the street toward the Splash car wash.
Police initiated emergency lights, and asked the male to stop, to which he complied.
Officers noted a strong smell of intoxicants coming from the man, however, he did not answer when asked how much he had been drinking.
The man was taken into custody, and taken back to Walmart where employees positively identified the male as the shoplifter.
The man then admitted to police that he was on house arrest. When asked what his name was, the man responded with “house arrest,” the police report states.
The man was taken to the Faulkner County jail where police say he swallowed pills from his pocket. The man was then taken to the Conway Regional Medical Center emergency room where staff advised police the man had a blood alcohol content of 0.29, however, no drugs could be detected in his system.
• Theft of property, South Amity Road.
Lease and Sales, located at 650 S. Amity Road, says four tires were stolen off a Dodge Durango sometime Monday night.
Police arrived on scene around 11:53 a.m. where they were notified the tires were discovered to be missing Tuesday morning.
The tires were valued at $1,200 in the police report.
