Disc golf scamble to benefit fight against cancer

A new disc golf course at Beaverfork Lake in Conway will be host to a tournament that will work with Chains for the Cure to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. The event is hosted by the Conway Disc Gold Assoction.

The 3-person scramble will take place at the new course at the lake on 20 Kinley Dr. in Conway on Saturday, Sept. 28. There are two levels for those who want to play. The advanced level will play for money and trophies, and the recreational level will play for trophies and prizes. The entry fees are $100 per team for the advanced level and $75 per team for the recreational level. Golden Corral will be supplying free food for all participants.

Conway Disc Golf Association member Michael Causey said he is hopeful that the new course is the first of more in the area.

“The parks department in Conway really need to be applauded for their work in putting this course together,” Causey said.

For more information about the tournament, contact Causey at 428-5053 or visit the assocation’s page at Facebook.
