Police investigate possible sexual indecency with minor

Posted: September 10, 2013 - 11:53am

Conway police are investigating a Texas man for possible sexual indecency with a 13-year-old Conway female, according to a department incident report.

Police were notified by the child’s mother Saturday morning, after the mother said she found text messages on her daughter’s phone, exchanged between her daughter and the man.

“Some of the text messages were sexually explicit and (the man) was asking (the child) to send nude photos to him,” the police report states.

Police said the mother was unsure if her daughter shared nude photos. The mother told officers, in one of the texts, the man admitted the girl “looked young.”

The mother told police her daughter met the man on a messenger site called Kik, around Aug. 26, and said the man told her daughter he worked at a Buffalo Wild Wings.

Police were able to retrieve the man’s cell phone number and make contact with him. The man, identified in the police report as a 19-year-old Texas resident, told police he met the girl on the messenger site, and admitted to knowing she was 13 years old.

The man also admitted to asking the child to send nude photos, although the police report does not state if the child sent any. The man also confirmed he sent one nude photo, of himself, to the child.

Police notified the man a report was being filed, and he may be contacted for further questioning.

I have seen through other

I have seen through other people's children some kids, a LOT of kids, are absolutely out of control these days. Some with no supervision. And actually some with very good supervision but the kids are just out of control. They think they are staying on top of their kids, but these kids find ways to do whatever they want. One couple who are very well to do, very protective of their daughter. They insist she take birth control because she still manages to find ways. Well, this girl got pregnant, was afraid to tell her very strict protective mom. She kept taking the birth control and ended up having a miscarriage at 14! That her parents don't even know about! The girl is distraught and going through this without parental support. Sometimes there is nothing you can do but your best. The rest sometimes is beyond control. But it seems unfair to charge this boy and label him a sex offender possibly when the girl was more than willing. And I don't want to hear she is a CHILD and therefore can't make good decisions. I have seen MANY 13 yr old girls who aren't CHILDREN in their behavior by any means. And I haven't seen just a whole lot of 19 yr old boys who make great ADULT decisions either!

So if you had a 13 y/o daughter you would be fine with her being involved with a 19 y/o?

I'll agree that kids are out of control these days, but def. not the 13 yr olds fault. Young girls have been getting crushes on "older guys" since the beginning of time, and that makes it very easy for an older man to manipulate a younger girl. The fact that he knew she was 13, yes he should be labeled a sex offender.

". And I haven't seen just a whole lot of 19 yr old boys who make great ADULT decisions either!"

The same could be said for 30 yr olds almost seems like.

Can't believe the one and only post on this is blaming the 13-year-old and defending the 19-year-old! Regardless of behavior of child, they are still a child. Regardless of maturity of adult, they are still an adult. Appalled.
