Conway EcoFest organizers are seeking individual and group volunteers for its last, official work day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. The drop-in work day will be held at the McGee Sports Center, 3800 College Ave., and no special skills are required to participate.
The EcoFest team hopes to accomplish many tasks throughout the day, in order to bring fun learning experiences to everyone in the community. This year, there are many new, interactive exhibits and activities for the whole family.
Tasks and prep-work needed include the following:
• Painting and updating area/section signs
• Constructing sturdy, wood frames for murals and display boards
• Assistance with communication efforts (placement and distribution of fliers, signs, and general information)
• Completing miscellaneous tasks for various sections, including creative display/exhibit updates
Refreshments will be served.
Group leaders (i.e. schools, churches, civic groups, businesses, etc.), as well as the general public can help for a few hours, and learn about volunteer opportunities for the 2013 festival.
Many volunteer opportunities are still available prior to, and during the event. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up through the website at www.conwayecofest.com/application-center as soon as possible. Exhibitor and sponsorships opportunities are also available.
