Independent Living Services will hold its eighth annual Golf Ball Drop fundraiser Thursday, Sept. 5 at Centennial Valley Golf Course.
To raise funds for the group’s transportation fleet, the agency is asking community members to purchase numbered tickets that correspond with golf balls, which will be dropped from a hot air balloon over the golf course’s driving range.
The ticket holder with the golf ball that lands closest to the target “hole” on the ground below will win $2,013.
ILS, a private nonprofit that serves people with developmental disabilities in central Arkansas, provides transportation to and from the agency’s work and learning programs, medical appointments, social events, grocery stores, and work.
The organization serves more than 250 people.
Tickets are available to purchase until up to 30 minutes before the drop, slated for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5.
Tickets can be purchased at the event or at Independent Living Services’ office at 615 E. Robins Street in Conway, or from any ILS board member.
To purchase tickets on delivery, call Lisa Garner, development director, at 327-5234, ext. 313.
Balls are $10 each, three for $25, seven for $50, and 20 for $100.
The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with hamburgers and hotdogs cooked by Centennial Bank.
Activities for the kids include inflatable bounce houses and a rock climbing wall.
