Former acting administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is scheduled to speak at the Clinton School of Public Safety Aug. 20 at noon.
The program, part of the school’s public programs collection, will feature Brigham McCown discussing the safety of oil and gas pipelines in America.
McCown currently serves as a principal and managing director of United Transportation Advisors LLC in Dallas. In that role, he advises private sector clients with international and national issues related to the transportation, energy, homeland security and logistics industries.
He served in Washington, D.C., from 2003 to 2007 during both terms of George W. Bush’s administration as a senior executive at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He reported directly to both Republican and Democratic transportation secretaries and served as the first acting administrator and first deputy administrator of the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
