An officer cited a 22-year-old Mayflower man for holding a sign and begging for money at the intersection of Highway 64 and Highway 65.
According to the Conway Police Department incident report, the reporting officer had made contact with the subject in the same location previously and told him it was against the law to beg for money in public.
When the officer made contact with him again on the same offense, the subject was arrested.
The subject's backpack was too large to be stored in property at the jail, so the officer made a log of the backpack and its contents in order to store it in evidence at the police department.
According to the log, the black Coleman backpack contained food stamp paperwork, a white bible, two pornography magazines, and three issues of Maxim.
