Conway Fire Department, 1-800-BoardUp and Conway Wampus Cat Football Team have joined together to host the second annual Shine Xpress All-You-Can Eat Pancake Breakfast today. Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., attendees will be served pancakes, sausage and a drink for only $5.
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit various after-school activities, which Shine Xpress is planning for children in under-resourced families.
“The goal of Shine Xpress is to invest in, involve and inspire children in our area to reach their full potential. Many children are unable to explore their gifts and talents due to lack of resources,“ said Kathy Wyrick, executive director for Shine Xpress, Inc.
The community is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to be served delicious Stoby’s pancakes by a Wampus Cat football player.
“It is a pleasure to work with members of the football team, the fire department and 1-800-BoardUp representatives,” added Wyrick. “There is something really special about high school students volunteering their time to cook for and serve the community in benefit of kids in less fortunate situations.”
Sunday’s breakfast will be dine in or carry out. With a convenient drive-thru, there isn’t a need to call ahead to place your order. Volunteers will be on hand and ready to prepare breakfast.
