Police break up slap fight between women

Two women got into a slapping contest over a man this past Sunday after one woman asked the other to tell her husband to stop coming to her home.

Lauralee Parks, 31, of 475 Robins, told police she walked over to talk to her nearby neighbor Shirley Miller, 23, and Miller’s mother because she wanted them to ask Miller’s husband to stop dropping by Parks’s place and asking for pills, according to an incident report. Parks told police she was talking to Miller’s mother when Miller came up from behind and hit her.

The police officer could see a “red mark on the side of her face with a bruise forming beside her eye,” according to the report.

The officer also talked to Miller, who called police to make her own report.

The two women got into an argument after Parks said Miller’s husband came by Parks’ house, according to the incident report. Miller told police Parks raised her arm — that’s when Miller hit Parks. Then Parks hit Miller back. There was a redness on the side of Miller’s face where she said she was struck, according to the report.

Miller asked for a no trespass warning issued to Parks. The officer issued the warning to Parks.
