Saturday is releaf project in Vilonia

The public is invited today to this year’s Arkansas ReLeaf Project in Vilonia from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which will be held at the Vilonia Fire Station parking lot. Free hot dogs will be served. Also, area residents are eligible to receive free trees to replace those lost due to tornado damage.

Varieties of trees offered include Willow Oak, White Oak, Redbud, Tulip Poplar and Bald Cypress.

The event is sponsored by the Arkansas Urban Forestry Council, the Arkansas Forestry Commission, the city of Vilonia as well as Sweet Heat BBQ and the city of Little Rock Parks and Recreation. First Security Bank of Vilonia is also a community partner.
