Conway High School students read books to younger students during Read Across America earlier this month.

Sixty-one students from Conway High School’s Future Business Leaders of America, the National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) and other high school volunteers went to several Conway elementary and middle schools March 1 to celebrate Read Across America.

High School students read books to the students that morning in celebration of this event. Some of the high school students dressed up as Cat In The Hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The National Education Association’s reading program is in its 16th year. This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships and reading resources. The Conway Education Association donated bookmarks, banners and posters to schools to help motivate children to read. At the high school, teacher Lizzie Well’s Digital Communications II class created bookmarks for one of the elementary schools.
