Conway police located a woman reported missing last week by family members.
According to Conway Police Department detective Jason Cameron, Constance Hendrix, of Conway, and her son are safe and reportedly in good health.
Last week Hendrix's mother told police she feared for her daughter and grandson's wellbeing, claiming Hendrix fled because she believed the Department of Human Services would soon remove her son from her custody.
Cameron said after speaking with the woman, it appears she left on her own free will and wished to break ties with family.
"She was located in another jurisdiction. Other officials from that jurisdiction checked on her, and they're in a shelter. I spoke with Constance, and she says allegations her mother is claiming are false.
She doesn't want to be found," Cameron said.
Cameron said he spoke with the woman's mother and relayed that her grandson is enrolled in school elsewhere.
"Everyone's fine, and she doesn't want to be bothered by her family," he said.
The department is not releasing Hendrix's whereabouts.

I give the department a big slap on the back for not releasing the location of the woman and child. I've seen to many of these overbearing families call DHS if it's not their way. If your calling DHS on your child you didn't do your job. If so why would you want to take your grand child. To mess that up too.
