State Supreme Court to visit UCA

Posted: February 27, 2013 - 9:56am

The Arkansas Supreme Court will visit the University of Central Arkansas campus on Thursday, October 10.

President Tom Courtway announced to the UCA Board of Trustees on Friday that all seven justices would visit the campus this fall.

Planning is still underway, but justices will hear oral arguments starting at 9 a.m. in the Reynolds Performance Hall. Additional details will be announced once they are finalized. The event is public.

“We believe that will be a good event not only for UCA and our students but the community and maybe some of the high schools,” he said.

"will hear oral arguments starting at 9 a.m."

That's much better than hearing written arguments.

Particulars

I'm sure the particulars will emerge closer to the time of the event. It's a pretty big deal, Courtway said Friday. Only two places get this kind a visit annually. This year, it will be Conway and Bentonville, I think.

We'll probably write more about the court coming a little closer to the event.

Thanks so much for reading LCD!
