Conway police were dispatched to 375 E Oak Street, Valero, in reference to a small child running alone in the area.
According to a Conway Police Department incident report, police made contact with a 5-year-old female, who told them she was on her way to "get daddy," who she said lives in Perryville.
Police said the child did not know her parents' first names or where they were, but she pointed in the direction of her home.
The report states officers took the child in the direction of 5th Avenue, where a reporting person originally saw her.
Officers pulled over at 5th Avenue and Sixth Street to walk and let the child guide them to her home.
The report states police made contact with the girl's parents at a nearby residence.
The father advised he had just arrived home from a "short trip to a gas station," and the girl's mother told police she thought her daughter went with her father, "but was not sure."
The mother told police she called the father when she did not see her daughter at the house, but the father did not answer his phone.
According to the report, when the mother did not see her child with the father after he returned, they both began looking for the girl, "but did not call police for assistance."
From the time of the call to the time parents were located was about 17 minutes.
Police notified Arkansas State Police Child Abuse Hotline, and the case is still active and open.

There are many sides to every story of why this happened, for those with our own children this is scary. I hope this was a once in a lifetime experience for this family.
My Crystal Ball Says
This is just a glimpse into the future if the new abortion bill gets voted into law.
good point Buzz
We should kill them before something bad happens to them.
Not the Point
I'm against abortion as a menns of birth control personally but I don't think the government should be allowed to tell anyone what they can or can't do with their own body espically when you are going to force soomeone to have an UNWANTED CHILD.
Because a large % of these people are not going to give up "THEIR BABY" if the state says they have to keep it.
My point here is that if people are forced to raise more unwanted children their will be alot more poor parenting problems reported.
Just Saying.

No one is forced to raise a child, you can leave an unwanted child at a hospital, no questions asked.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^but these people won't
huh?
You lost me there. My bad, I guess, but I didn't get your point.
What state forces them to keep it?
The "state" usually is in the business of taking kids, not forcing them to be kept.
Try To Stay with Me
If the state won't let someone get an abortion for whatever reason and they have an unwanted child (even happens to married couples) There are a group of people with the mind set that they are not going to give up their child no matter what after it is born. They aren't forced to keep them but even if they can't feed them they will not give up their child.
There for it the law passes and more children are born that were not wanted in the 1st place then we will see more reports of bad parenting.
maybe
But, there are probably just as many cases of "unwanted" children becoming wanted.
I didn't really become a responsible person until I had a child. True story.
Me Either
When responsibility was thurst upon me at the early age of 30 LOL I had to buckle up and raise my child as a single parent and would not have made it without my parents help. Well I would have made it but I would have had a much lower standard of living.
