Central Baptist College will begin tearing down the old administration building-library to prepare the site for a new library and learning commons.
Construction crews will begin tearing the building down at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at 1501 College Ave., according to a news release.
CBC plans to build a new, two-story building on the site of the Administration Building-Library that will be just over 16,000 square feet. The preliminary layout of the new facility includes: library staff offices, learning commons, 30-plus computer workstations, multimedia classroom, café and café seating area, Ronald V. Mitchell Archives, science resource center, media curriculum center, conference rooms, group and private study rooms and book stacks.
The Administration Building-Library was constructed in 1969 and previously housed the administration offices and the library.
