Public art is on the palette of Conway City Council when it meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the District Courtroom on Parkway.
The Council will be asked to waive competitive bids for eight bronze sculptures designed and produced by sculptor Randolph Rose of Yonkers, New York.
Funding, not to exceed $35,000, will come from the Parks Impact Fund Balance Appropriation into the Parks Impact Furniture and Fixtures Account, an account that cannot be used for other purposes.
The Council has tentatively chosen seven sculptures of children and one of a toad reading a book.
Rose’s sculptures are in schools, parks, art galleries and private homes around the country.
