Clayton Monsees was sentenced to 55 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections in Faulkner County Circuit Court Wednesday for the 2012 shooting death of Billy J. Ewing.
Monsees entered a plea of guilty to first-degree murder, reduced from his original charge of capital murder.
Monsees was sentenced to 40 years on the murder charge, an additional 10 years for committing the crime in the presence of minors, and five years for using a firearm.
