Heavy rains and strong winds have Faulkner County under a flash flood watch as the National Weather Service issues warnings about possible flooding and wind gusts coming this weekend.
This afternoon, new rainfall amounts in the area are expected to be between a half and three-quarters of an inch. More than an inch of rain had fallen in parts of central and north Arkansas by 2 p.m. Saturday.
Continual rain, sometimes falling heavily, has slowed traffic in Conway and dampened spirits, but few wrecks have been reported, law enforcement said.
The weather could worsen before it improves, according to the weather service.
Storms could become stronger this afternoon and Faulkner County residents could see include straight-line winds of up to 50 miles per hour in northeast Faulkner County.
"The threat of a tornado or two cannot be ruled out," according to the Hazardous Weather Outlook issued Saturday morning.

We find out the mayor's getting a divorce, a flu epidemic is sweeping through the area, the boss of a school was muddled in a gun-theft scheme, and the Police Chief of Mayflower's been kicked out the police.
And now, now weatherpocolypse comes.
Are we sure the LCD isn't causing all this just to create news?
It is the wrath....

...or the ninjas...
You decide.
One thing we haven't seen lately...
Is a slow news day.
