The governor has never driven through Conway.

I like Beebe, but this is a swing and a miss.

What's next, the AG heading up the Marriage Fidelity Committee?

I was thinking...

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

All Beebe would have to do is drive on Oak Street between Harkrider and Ingram to know what kind of mistake he'd made.

In all fairness, Becky from the LCD informed us that portion of Oak Street is state highway and the highway department's responsibility.

But, just name another street in town and the message still stands.

State highway

Oak Street from Harkrider to Ingram is U.S 64, maintained by the state highway dept.

Thank you

Thank you for that info Becky.

It's still a disgrace. Perhaps our mayor could exert some sort of influence to have it repaired since it is within his jurisdiction.

Duh, maybe he is trying to

Duh, maybe he is trying to give Tab a little boost into the Governor's seat when his term is up. Our Mayor couldn't find his way to a correctly paved road in Conway if they gave him a map, GPS and a search light off of a Battleship. Some of the roads in Conway are so bad they make my CD player skip(that's real good for CD's--not!) He should get out and drive through some of the older neighborhoods and realize those folks pay taxes just like everyone else and he should spend some of that road money on their roads and quit building those stupid round abouts. This isn't Europe or haven't you noticed that. Or better yet the city engineer said the street dept didn't have anything to do they could go out and start building the new road to the airport. I got a better Idea. How about you resign your position. There are untold ditches in some older and new neighborhoods that the grass has grown up out of the ditch to the edge of the road, the grass hasn't been dug out of the dtiches in so long that the least amount of rain causes them to flood, thus causing erosion to the road bed. But, don't forget about the many tree's that have taken root over these so many years that these ditches haven't been cleaned out. Come on people get off your duff and do your job.

Could not have said it better

Could not have said it better myself....The appointment has got to be joke, our Mayor does so little to improve roads and streets in Conway makes you sick. Last night at City Council meeting the Mayor and Council gave away another $100K out of the street fund to charity . BTW have you driven down the streets our street department has repaved / reconstructed....you would think they forgotten to read the book "road work for dummies"! Take a trip down Farve Lane to see how sad they perform.

oak street

Oak St. east of Hardrider is also known as HWY 64, which means the State Highway Dept. is responsible for it, not the city. Can't blame the Mayor for that one. Sorry chaps!

Wonder how much

this position pays and how soon he will be eligible for a raise to up his salary to similar positions in similar states? Will he get a $20k raise a year in this position?
