The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for parts of Arkansas that includes Faulkner County.
The outlook "is for a large part of Arkansas," according to the advisory released early Wednesday morning.
Widespread showers are expected today, with as much as 4 inches falling in some areas. Because the rainfall comes at a time when vegetation is dormant, there is a risk of flash flooding, particularly in southern Arkansas, according to the service.
Rain is expected to leave the state late Thursday, but more is coming for the weekend. By Friday night, there is a "small potential" for freezing rain in Western and Northern Arkansas.
