Area residents who still have natural Christmas trees lying around are encouraged to take them to the Lawrence Landing access ramp at Lake Conway.
The undecorated, organic trees left over from the holiday can be put to use as fish habitats in the lake.
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Matt Horton, with the fisheries division, said the trees left at the access can be of use to anglers, who will haul the trees into the lake to create their own fish habitats.
Game and Fish will also use the trees to create other structures habitable by fish in the lake.
The trees make an ideal habitat for crappie, bluegill, and bass.
Arkansas Game an d Fish would ask that the trees be undecorated and free of any obstruction before they are taken to the drop-off point.
