Officers with the Conway Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance check of 12 local businesses Tuesday night, resulting in citations at three.
A 19-year-old informant with an unaltered identification entered the restaurants and attempted to order alcohol.
Servers at Saigon, The Great American Grill, Logan’s Roadhouse, Las Palmas, Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen, Ruby Tuesday, Fuji Japanese Steakhouse, Cactus Jack’s and Gusano’s passed the compliance check. Servers at Oak Street Bistro, Buffalo Wild Wings and Beef O’Bradys failed, and were issued $250 citations.
Servers at all three restaurants checked the minor informant’s ID, but served the alcohol.
The compliance check was the second check conducted by the department in the past week. A check of nine businesses last Wednesday resulted in citations at Mike’s Place and Michelangelo’s.
The department funds the compliance checks, and officials said the random checks are expected to continue to reduce the effects of underage drinking.
