Voting machine glitches at several precincts have been fixed, according to Faulkner County Election Commissioner Frank Shaw.
Some machines were reported to be inoperable at the McGee Sports Center, Springhill Baptist Church and in Cato early Tuesday morning. Shaw said some dealt with machines that were unable to be turned on, but all the problems have been fixed so far.
"In some cases, you may have had five machines and two of them not work," Shaw said. "But we have had people go to those locations and take care of the problems. In all instances, we still had machines available for all voters. None of the precincts had to shut down."
Shaw said he has been impressed with the lack of problems from the early voting period to Tuesday's Election Day. Rough numbers have placed the early voting totals to about 23,000.
"The lines were really long yesterday," Shaw said. "And everything has gone well."
